Prepare the savory items:
Steam or prepare any items you are making from scratch according to the recipe or package instructions, and cut them into bite-sized pieces if needed.
Arrange fafda (chickpea flour chips) and Indian snack mix (Chanachur) in small bowls or compartments on the board.
Place green chili achaar in a small bowl or plate for dipping. Fill small bowls with a variety of nuts, roasted chickpeas, and banana chips. Alternatively, scatter them around the board. Place the roti on a plate and add to the side.
Prepare cocktail samosas shortly before serving, so they are still warm, and arrange them on the board. We like to serve the samosa filling on its own on a plate or bowl as well.
Assemble the sweet treats:
Arrange pieces of soan papdi, shakkar para, and freshly made chocolate samosas on the board. Ideally, the samosas are prepared and heated shortly before serving.
Place whole dates and clusters of grapes around the board.
Add chutneys, dips, and sauces:
Place mango chutney, mint chutney, kadhi chutney, and any other dipping sauces in separate bowls or compartments on the board.
Garnish and serve:
Sprinkle some fresh mint leaves or cilantro over the board for garnish, if desired. Serve the Indian Charcuterie Board as an appetizer or snack, and provide small plates, napkins, and utensils for easy serving and enjoyment.
How many people does this board feed? The recipe feeds around 6-9 people.
Feel free to adjust the quantities and arrangement of the ingredients based on your preference and the size of the board. You can also add or substitute other vegan Indian snacks and condiments to personalize the board to your liking. Enjoy the delightful flavors and textures of this vegan Indian Charcuterie Board!
Storage:
- Keep the charcuterie board out for a maximum of two hours, and remove perishable items (such as cocktail samosas, dhokla, roti, chutney, and dips.) in time from the board to prevent spoilage. Store perishable items in airtight containers in the fridge.
- Serve board in smaller portions and replenish as needed and keep the rest refrigerated until ready to serve more.
- Cover remaining components (such as nuts, and non-perishable snacks) with plastic wrap or transfer to airtight containers.
- Consume leftovers within a few days, check expiry dates, and discard any spoiled store-bought items.
