Hey there, my name is Jacqui!
I am Jacqui - the writer, photographer, recipe creator, and founder behind The Simple Sprinkle. It's nice to see you here! Before I started blogging I graduated as a travel management assistant from IHK in Germany in 2018. Traveling is one of my greatest passions, together with lap swimming and hiking (and of course cooking, baking, and photography).
In 2019 I moved from my home country Germany to the United States of America to start a new life with my husband Tanner, who is an American citizen.
So how exactly did I end up here?
Let's rewind a little back! *VHS tape rewind noises* When I was 14 years old, I decided to turn vegetarian for the animals. I saw a chicken being butchered on TV and cried my eye balls out. Eating chicken for lunch, later on, made me think... How could I cry over the chicken on TV and then eat one for my next meal? I grew up in a family where eating animal products was never really questioned, so everyone was a bit surprised about my decision to keep the animals from my plate.
Not only the animals but also the environmental and health aspect lead me to live a vegan lifestyle. My dietary decisions and the fact that my dad is a learned chef started my interest in cooking and baking from scratch. Since then I've come a long way and have been living fully vegan for many years.
When I started I would've loved to have an experienced vegan who took me by the hand to show me how easy, creative, and delicious vegan food can be! Therefore in 2020, I decided to start sharing my vegan recipes, knowledge, and experience with you through The Simple Sprinkle! Check out this article, if you are curious about the journey to becoming a full-time food blogger and what a full-time food photographer and blogger does.
I think food is meant to be shared.
Turning vegetarian or vegan shouldn't stop you from enjoying traditional foods, or your favorite childhood meals! One of my biggest challenges of turning vegetarian, and eventually vegan, was to "miss out" on foods during social events and holidays. As a result, I made it my mission to organize classic homemade dishes and all-time favorites.
No matter if you are just starting, or are an experienced home chef. I help you tackle this challenge by using my experience of meat-free living for more than 10 years and sharing all my tips and tricks with you.
Due to my heritage, I specialize in traditional German recipes, but most recipes on my Website are world-inspired and include a variety of styles and cultures. The Simple Sprinkle is making the vegan cuisine easy, approachable, and tasty!
You can always leave a comment under posts, write me an email or send me a DM on Instagram with feedback, questions, or ideas for content and new recipes.
All Eaters Are Welcome here!
You don’t have to be 100% vegan to enjoy the recipes on my blog! BUT if I can convince you to choose plants for even one meal a week, that’s already awesome.
