🍟 What fries should I use?

With these loaded vegan french fries, you can use any fries you like best - store-bought or homemade! So pick your favorite fries (or get them from your favorite restaurant and top them at home). I love to prepare my homemade fries in our air-fryer, but they also taste amazing baked.

Some would probably say the topped dips are Guacamole and Salsa, but since I make the dips very simplified and not traditional at all, I would feel uncomfortable calling them exactly that.

    📋 Variations

This loaded fries recipe is super versatile. So feel free to get creative! Despite the two dips I listed in the recipe below you could also add any of these other toppings:

    • Vegan cheese shreds
    • Pico de gallo
    • Taco seasoning
    • Vegan Sour Cream
    • Pickled jalapeño, sliced
    • Green onion, chopped
    • Plant-based Nacho cheese
    • Vegan ground 'Beef'
    • Vegan Chorizo, sliced
    • Beans (Pinto, or Black Beans)
    • Sweet peppers, diced
    • Hot sauce, or Siracha sauce

This vegan finger food is great for adults and kids alike, vegans, vegetarians, and even meat-eaters. Because who doesn't love fries?!

    Ingredients

    Fries

    • 150 g regular fries (5.3 oz)
    • 150 g sweet potato fries (5.3 oz)
    • salt for seasoning
    • fresh cilantro + lime slices for garnish (if you don't like cilantro, skip it or sub with a fresh herb you like)

    Avocado Dip

    • 1 ripe Avocado
    • juice from half a lime

    Tomato Dip

    • ½ can of diced tomatoes
    • ½ finely chopped red onion
    • finely chopped fresh cilantro
    • some chili optional

    Instructions

    • Prepare fries by baking, or (air) frying them. If you are using store bought, follow package instructions. While fries are baking prepare your toppings.

    Avocado Dip

    • Cut avocado and mash up avocado flesh with a fork in a small bowl. Add lime juice and mix. Cover and store in fridge until needed.

    Tomato Dip

    • Chop onion and cilantro. Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix together with a fork.

    Assembling

    • Season fries with some salt when they come out of the oven. Add fries onto plate, top with dips and sprinkle with more cilantro.

    Notes

How to store: The loaded fries are best eaten immediately as they get soggy after standing around for too long once topped. You can store the dips for 2-3 days in an air tight container/covered in the fridge.

Now these are going on my Veganuary list for sure. Love both potato and sweet potato fries, but I've never had them together and never with these toppings. Delicious.
